Old Bridge, NJ – A downed utility pole and wires shut down two right lanes of northbound Route 9 early Monday morning, causing traffic disruptions in Old Bridge Township.
According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, the incident occurred just north of Fairway Lane around 5:22 a.m. Crews responded to the scene and closed two of the three northbound lanes, along with the right shoulder, to allow emergency and utility workers to clear debris and repair damaged lines.
Motorists were advised to expect delays and to use caution when traveling through the area. It was not immediately clear when all lanes would reopen.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
