Trenton, NJ – The Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $1.6 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing, making Monday’s prize one of the largest ever offered in U.S. lottery history.
The winning numbers drawn Saturday were white balls 4, 5, 28, 52, 69 and red Powerball 20. With no jackpot winner, the grand prize now ranks as the fifth-largest overall in U.S. history and the fourth-largest in Powerball history, officials confirmed.
The record-setting jackpot remains the $2.04 billion Powerball prize won in California in 2022, when the winner opted for a lump-sum payout of $997.6 million before taxes.
For Monday’s drawing, players can choose between a lump-sum payment estimated at $735.3 million or an annuitized prize of $1.6 billion, which would be paid out over 30 years with annual increases of 5%. The odds of hitting the jackpot stand at 1 in 292.2 million.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Revenue from ticket sales is used by participating states to fund public education and other essential services.
