Randallstown woman wins $100,000 after buying first 10 scratch-offs in pack

Randallstown, MD – A Baltimore County woman’s long-standing lottery habit paid off in a big way after her routine of buying the first 10 tickets in a scratch-off pack led to a $100,000 win.

The Maryland Lottery said the Randallstown player hit the top-tier prize on the $10 Red 5’s Doubler game, which debuted December 5. She claimed her winnings on December 18 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The lucky winner purchased tickets numbered 1 through 10 from Pantry One grocery store on Old Court Road while cashing in a smaller prize. Instead of scratching the play area, she scanned the QR codes directly — a method she often uses to check results. When the machine displayed a message indicating a win, she assumed it was a modest payout until the cashier informed her she had just won $100,000.

The winner, who is nearing retirement, said the prize will help her settle financial obligations and continue her volunteer work assisting those in need. “This is life-changing,” she told Lottery officials.

Pantry One will receive a $1,000 bonus, equal to 1% of the prize amount. According to the Maryland Lottery, seven $100,000 top prizes remain unclaimed in the Red 5’s Doubler game.
