FOREST HILLS, Pa. – Two people were critically wounded Friday morning in a shooting that prompted a major police response in a residential neighborhood, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

Authorities said the incident began around 9:22 a.m. when County 9-1-1 received reports of gunfire near the 400 block of Decatur Avenue. Responding officers found an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where they remain in critical but stable condition.

Detectives with the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit determined the shooting likely occurred near the 600 block of Lenox Avenue and that the victims drove to Decatur Avenue after being shot. Investigators spent much of the morning processing both scenes and collecting evidence.

No arrests have been announced, and police have not released a possible motive. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous.
