Holiday skating and DJ skates in full swing at Winding River Ice Rink in Toms River this week

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Families looking for winter fun over the holiday break can head to the Winding River Skating Center, where a full schedule of public skating sessions and nightly DJ skate events continues through the end of December.

Toms River Mayor Dan Rodrick today said that this week is a great time to hit the ice with friends and family and enjoy the festive holiday environment at the rink.

Located at 1211 Whitesville Road, the township-operated rink is offering daily public skating times through December 31, including morning, afternoon, and select evening sessions. On December 26, skating runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 2 to 4 p.m., and 5 to 7 p.m., with similar schedules on December 27 and 28. Public sessions continue each day through New Year’s Eve, when the rink will be open from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m.

Adding to the festivities, the popular Holiday Break DJ Skate Nights bring music and lights to the ice from 8 to 10 p.m. or 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. each evening through December 30. Admission for DJ Skate Nights is $15 per person, with skate rentals available for an additional $5.

Township officials remind skaters to confirm session times in advance, as schedules may shift due to local hockey games or high school events. The full skating calendar and updates can be found at tomsrivertownship.com/213/Winding-River-Rink or by calling (732) 244-0720 ext. 1 or 5.
