Bronx, NY – A 30-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside a residential building in the Bronx late Saturday, and two people were arrested and charged with murder following an ongoing investigation, authorities said.
The incident unfolded at approximately 10:03 p.m. Saturday when officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress inside a home on Ogden Avenue, within the confines of the 44 Precinct. When officers arrived, they found a woman unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds to her face and abdomen.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she was pronounced deceased. She was later identified as Shashamanie Thompson, 30, who lived at the Ogden Avenue address.
Following the response, two individuals were taken into custody and later arrested at about 10:47 p.m. within the 44 Precinct, according to investigators.
Beyonce Johnson, 24, another resident of the building and Saleh Ceesay, 21, of Alexander Avenue, were each charged with murder and manslaughter in connection with the fatal stabbing.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to review the circumstances leading up to the assault.
