VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A Virginia Beach man has died following a motorcycle crash on Diamond Springs Road that occurred late Saturday morning.
According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of Diamond Springs Road at 11:38 a.m. after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle. The rider, identified as 53-year-old Kerry Lawing of Virginia Beach, was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased the following day.
Investigators said Lawing was traveling south on Diamond Springs Road when another vehicle turned in front of him, causing the crash. The driver of that vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
