NEW YORK, NY – A violent encounter inside the Union Square Subway Station on Saturday evening left a 54-year-old man injured after an unidentified suspect allegedly ordered his dog to attack during a heated argument, police said.
The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. within the 13th Precinct and Transit District 4. According to investigators, the confrontation began as a verbal dispute about the suspect’s dog before escalating. The suspect allegedly slapped the victim across the face, then removed the dog’s muzzle and commanded the animal to bite.
The victim suffered multiple lacerations to his left hand from the dog’s bites and was treated for his injuries. The suspect fled the scene with the dog, heading to an unknown location. NYPD detectives are now searching for the man, who remains at large.
Authorities released images of the suspect as part of their investigation and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
