Two Brick Township men charged in cocaine distribution investigation

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that two Brick Township men have been charged following an investigation into the drug-related death of a 27-year-old woman on January 26, 2026.

Roderick Seward, 30, was charged with possession of cocaine in an amount less than one-half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Santino Giunta, 29, was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine in connection with the same investigation.

Brick Township police responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious woman and found the victim deceased from an apparent drug overdose. Investigators from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Narcotics Strike Force, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Brick Township Police Department determined that Seward and Giunta had supplied the victim with cocaine prior to her death.

Detectives conducted surveillance on Seward, and he was later stopped by Brick Township officers during a motor vehicle stop. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Ocean County Jail, where he remains pending a detention hearing.

Giunta was also stopped by police shortly afterward, taken into custody without incident, and charged via complaint-summons pending a first court appearance. A subsequent search of Seward’s residence led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials used in narcotics distribution.

“This investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming,” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
