Pennsylvania launches Millionaire for Life with $1 million a year grand prize
MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Pennsylvania Lottery announced Friday the launch of a new national daily draw game that will award one winner $1 million a year for life, with the first drawing scheduled for Sunday night.
Millionaire for Life will be available at nearly 10,000 lottery retailers across the Commonwealth beginning Sunday. The first drawing will be held after 11:15 p.m. ET.
The $5 game offers a grand prize of $1 million a year for life paid as an annuity or a one-time cash option of $18 million. A second prize awards $100,000 a year for life or a lump sum option of $2.2 million.
Players select five numbers from 1 to 58 and one Millionaire Ball number from 1 to 5. Ticket sales close nightly at 10:15 p.m. ET. Players may purchase tickets for up to 10 consecutive drawings and can either choose their own numbers or use the Quick Pick option.
The odds of winning the grand prize are 1 in 22.9 million. The odds of winning the second prize are 1 in 5.7 million. Overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.47.
Lottery officials said proceeds from Millionaire for Life, like all Pennsylvania Lottery games, will benefit programs serving older residents, including prescription assistance, transportation services and senior centers. Since its inception more than 50 years ago, the Pennsylvania Lottery has generated more than $37.2 billion to benefit older Pennsylvanians.
Millionaire for Life will be offered in 31 lottery jurisdictions. In Pennsylvania, tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery retailer. Players can check tickets at retail locations or by using the Ticket Checker feature on the Pennsylvania Lottery’s official app.
