Detectives seek answers after 16 year old shot in Northeast Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 16-year-old was rushed to a hospital in critical condition after a shooting Wednesday evening in Northeast Baltimore, prompting detectives to launch an investigation and appeal for witnesses.

The shooting was reported at approximately 7:17 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, in the 5900 block of Bowleys Lane.

Responding officers located the teenage victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, where police said the teen remains in critical condition.

Detectives assigned to the Baltimore Police Department’s Northeast District Shooting Unit responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation.

Investigators have not released information about a suspect or a possible motive.
