A morning traffic disruption on Centennial Avenue has been resolved after a crash prompted a temporary road closure.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Centennial Avenue has reopened following a motor vehicle crash that led to a temporary eastbound closure Saturday morning, according to Piscataway Township Police. The roadway was initially shut down between River Road and Kingsbridge Road as emergency crews responded to the scene.

Police first announced the closure around 10:00 a.m., advising drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes during the response. The incident caused traffic delays in the surrounding area as detours were put in place.

“Centennial Ave eastbound will be closed from River Rd to Kingsbridge Rd due to a motor vehicle accident. Please plan to use an alternate route, and avoid the area,” Piscataway Township Police stated in the initial alert.
