Lakewood Nears 1,000 Confirmed Cases as County Releases Daily Coronavirus Report

TOMS RIVER-The Ocean County Health Department has released today’s COVID-19 figures and Toms river and Lakewood continue to lead the county in positive infections.  Lakewood now has 936 cases and Toms River has 458 cases.  Those two towns account for 49% of the total cases countywide.

The curve in Ocean County, for appearance purposes appears to be softening after spiking with 305 plus new cases last week, but new cases continue coming at a steady rate between 200 and 300 per day for the past week, according to data provided by the Ocean County Health Department.

According to Governor Phil Murphy, 101 people have died from COVID-19 so far.
