Police say a street investigation near Route 30 led to multiple arrests and the seizure of suspected narcotics, counterfeit cash and prohibited weapons
ABSECON, N.J. — A police investigation near a busy Absecon roadway ended with three people behind bars after officers allegedly uncovered drugs, counterfeit currency, knives and multiple active warrants.
According to the Absecon Police Department, officers conducted a pedestrian stop shortly before 3 p.m. Monday in the area of U.S. Route 30 and Haddon Avenue.
During the investigation, officers identified three individuals and determined all three were wanted on active arrest warrants.
Police identified them as James D. Smith, 45, of Barrington; Tajma D. Felder, 24, of Williamstown; and Brandon T. Survilo, 32, of Essex, Maryland.
Investigators said the encounter led to the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, counterfeit currency, two prohibited dagger-style knives, five bundles of suspected heroin wax folds and four additional heroin wax folds.
Smith was charged with forged writing, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Felder was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
Survilo was processed on multiple outstanding warrants.
All three were transported to the Absecon Police Department for processing before being lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending court proceedings.
The charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
