Police are searching for a suspect after a 47-year-old man was pushed into an arriving D train at a Bronx subway station, leaving him injured.

BRONX, NY — A 47-year-old man escaped a far worse outcome after he was shoved into an arriving subway train during a violent assault at a Bronx station, prompting the NYPD to launch a search for the suspect.

According to the NYPD, the attack happened at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, on the southbound platform for the D line at the Fordham Road–Grand Concourse subway station.

Police said the victim was standing on the platform when an unidentified man approached and pushed him into an arriving D train.

The victim did not fall onto the tracks. However, police said he suffered injuries to his mouth and face after his head struck the moving train.

The suspect fled the station and remains at large.

The NYPD has released information about the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
