Police search for dark gray 2012 Toyota Yaris taken during overnight robbery on Kenilworth Avenue

WASHINGTON, DC — An armed carjacking is under investigation after a driver was robbed of a vehicle overnight in Northeast DC, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said the carjacking was reported at approximately 12:07 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Kenilworth Avenue Northeast DC.

The stolen vehicle is described as a dark gray 2012 Toyota Yaris with heavy window tint, dark-colored rims and damage to the driver’s side quarter panel.

No suspect description or additional details about the circumstances of the carjacking were immediately available.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who spots the vehicle not to approach it or attempt to recover it. Instead, call 911 immediately.
