Homicide investigation launched in Keansburg after man found dead with gunshot wound

Police are investigating after an adult man was found with a gunshot wound on Carr Avenue and later died at a local hospital.

Freehold, NJ – A homicide investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot Monday night in Keansburg, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

Officers with the Keansburg Police Department responded at approximately 8:56 p.m. to the 40 block of Carr Avenue following a 911 call reporting a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Victim died at local hospital

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or provided information about a possible suspect as the investigation remains in its early stages.

Detectives seeking information

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Keansburg Police Department are jointly investigating the homicide.
