Evesham Teen Car Thief Tracked Down, Arrested in Camden

Detectives recovered evidence and charged a juvenile after executing a search warrant tied to a stolen BMW and a series of vehicle thefts across Burlington County.

Marlton, NJ – A court-authorized search warrant executed at a Camden residence has resulted in the recovery of evidence and the arrest of a juvenile in connection with an ongoing investigation into a stolen BMW and multiple vehicle thefts across Burlington County, according to the Evesham Township Police Department.

The search warrant was carried out on July 22 at a residence on Sheridan Street in Camden with assistance from the New Jersey State Police TEAMS Unit, the Medford Township Police Department, the Mount Laurel Police Department, and the Camden County Police Department.

Investigation spans multiple communities

Police said the investigation began after a BMW was stolen from the Willow Ridge section of Marlton on June 30. Detectives are also investigating several vehicle burglaries and automobile thefts reported throughout Mount Laurel, Medford Township, and Medford Lakes during July.

During the execution of the search warrant, investigators recovered evidence connected to the ongoing case. Authorities said the warrant was obtained as part of the continuing investigation into the thefts.

Juvenile charged as investigation continues

According to police, a juvenile has been charged with third-degree receiving a stolen vehicle after allegedly arriving at the Yale Road incident location in “a stolen Audi that had been reported stolen from Voorhees Township.” Investigators said the juvenile was accompanied by several unidentified suspects.

The juvenile has been charged with one count of third-degree receiving a stolen vehicle under N.J.S.A. 2C:20-10. No additional arrests have been announced.

The investigation remains active, and detectives are seeking information that could help identify the remaining suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Evesham Township Police Department at (856) 983-1116, the department’s confidential tip line at (856) 983-4699, or Detective Sergeant Gary Borbidge at borbidgeg@eveshampd.org.

Police noted that all criminal charges are accusations, and those charged are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
