Roman Wright identified as victim after second suspect is taken into custody following Akin Circle standoff
ESSEX, MD – Two juvenile suspects are now in custody in the killing of 17-year-old Roman Wright after one was arrested hours after the Essex homicide and a second was captured following a barricade two days later, Baltimore County Police said.
The homicide occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the unit block of Bladen Road in Essex.
Police have identified Wright as the 17-year-old victim.
Authorities did not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death, including what led to the homicide or the nature of his injuries.
One juvenile suspect was arrested Monday evening, according to Baltimore County Police.
The search for a second suspect continued until Wednesday evening, when authorities encountered a barricade situation in the 100 block of Akin Circle.
Police said the barricade ended with the second juvenile suspect being taken into custody.
Authorities did not disclose how long the barricade lasted or provide details about what occurred before the suspect was apprehended.
Neither juvenile has been publicly identified.
Police also have not announced what charges the two suspects face or disclosed whether prosecutors will seek to have either case handled in adult court.
Additional information about the investigation will be released as it becomes available, police said.
