OAKHURST, N.J. – Three Shore Conference teams put up at least 36 points Saturday, but the biggest celebration belonged to Long Branch. The Green Wave erupted for 43 first-half points in a 51-0 victory over Keansburg, snapping a losing streak that dated to 2024.

Ocean Township also broke into the win column with a 36-20 victory over Colts Neck behind a punishing ground attack, while Monmouth Regional remained unbeaten with a 40-14 win over Keyport.

  • Long Branch scored 29 points in the second quarter and led Keansburg 43-0 at halftime.
  • Ocean Township rushed for 245 yards, with Jake Garrett and Justin Farina combining for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Monmouth Regional improved to 2-0 with a 26-point victory over Keyport.

Ocean Township Runs Past Colts Neck, 36-20

Ocean Township didn’t need to throw the ball often Saturday. The Spartans did most of their damage on the ground.

Garrett carried 11 times for 120 yards and a touchdown, while Farina added 105 yards and two scores on 17 attempts. Ocean finished with 245 rushing yards on 34 carries.

The Spartans were efficient when they did go to the air.

Garrett completed 5 of 8 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown. Jake Volek completed his only attempt for a 46-yard score, giving Ocean 132 passing yards and two touchdowns without an interception.

Aamir Byrd caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown, while John Mangeniello had a 46-yard touchdown reception. Joey Molinelli added a 47-yard catch.

The 36-20 victory moved Ocean Township to 1-1 and dropped Colts Neck to 0-2.

Long Branch Explodes for 51 in Shutout of Keansburg

Long Branch wasted little time turning its trip to Keansburg into a rout.

Brice Rhoden found Julian Otey for a 35-yard touchdown in the opening quarter. Isiah Rosario followed with a 16-yard touchdown run, giving the Green Wave a 14-0 lead.

Then came a second-quarter avalanche.

Otey scored on a 1-yard run, Rhoden broke loose for a 62-yard touchdown, Uzziah Puryear scored from 31 yards and Avery Colon added a 3-yard touchdown. Long Branch scored 29 points in the quarter and went to halftime ahead 43-0.

Steven Gaudious finished the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Rhoden only attempted three passes, completing one — the touchdown to Otey — for 35 yards. He also led Long Branch with 77 rushing yards, including the 62-yard score.

The 51-0 victory was Long Branch’s first win of the season and ended a losing streak dating to 2024. The Green Wave improved to 1-1 while Keansburg fell to 0-2.

Monmouth Regional Stays Perfect

Monmouth Regional kept its unbeaten start going with another convincing win.

The Falcons defeated Keyport 40-14 to improve to 2-0, making Monmouth the only undefeated team among the six schools in Saturday’s three-game group.

Keyport fell to 0-1 with the loss.

Through two games, Monmouth has positioned itself for an early-season run, while Ocean Township and Long Branch both leave the weekend at .500 after picking up important first victories.
