Police say the pair opened the vehicle doors before assaulting the victim
WASHINGTON, DC – A man sitting inside his unlocked vehicle in Southwest DC was confronted by two people who opened the car doors, assaulted him and stole his property shortly after midnight Monday, according to police.
The robbery happened at approximately 12:16 a.m. in the 3900 block of South Capitol Street SW.
The Metropolitan Police Department said two suspects approached the victim while he was seated inside his unlocked vehicle.
The suspects opened the vehicle’s doors and assaulted the man before taking his property and fleeing the scene, according to police.
MPD did not disclose what was stolen or provide information about the extent of the victim’s injuries.
A nearby security camera captured the two suspects, and police released images Tuesday while asking for help identifying them.
No arrests were announced, and police did not provide additional descriptions of the suspects.

Police are offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of a person or people responsible for a crime committed in the District.
