Concord, NH – A third former New Jersey inmate ordered to be released early by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy under a COVID-19 prison release program has committed two murders New Hampshire authorities reported.
Attorney General John M. Formella, State Police Colonel Nathan Noyes, and Bedford Police Chief John J. Bryfonski announce that Theodore Luckey, age 42, of Ashbury Park, New Jersey, has been arrested on second-degree murder charges for killing two adult males in Bedford, New Hampshire. Mr. Luckey was also charged with three counts of being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon.
Bedford Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls just after 7:00 p.m. on August 21, 2021, to 250 South River Road, Bedford, New Hampshire. Upon arriving at the Country Inn and Suites, two adult males were found deceased, one in the lobby and a second in a hotel room.

Based upon the information gathered so far, this incident appears to be contained and the individuals involved have been identified. At this time, there is no reason to believe that there is a threat to the public.
Luckey was released from prison by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on May 7th, eight months before he was to be released on parole.
His victims were Seaside Heights resident David Hanford, 60, and Nathan Cashman, 28 of Manchester, N.H.
Autopsies are expected to be completed and additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.
The Phil Murphy inmate early release body count now stands at 5 people.
