Maine State Police Web Based Report-Crime Tip Assist U.S. Marshals in Apprehending Fugitive

Kittery, ME
– The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) announces the
arrest of Michael Rickett, 26, in Kittery, Maine. Rickett was wanted on
a warrant issued by the District of Maine federal court for violating
his terms of supervised release.

Based on an anonymous tip provided to the Maine
State Police through their website:

the U.S. Marshals
Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) responded to an
address in Kittery and arrested Rickett without incident as he left a
residence on foot. Prior to the tip, Rickett had been actively trying to
evade arrest since Oct 2021.

The United States District Court in the District
of Maine sentenced Rickett on federal charges in June of 2019 after
being charged for a transfer of an unregistered destructive device.
Rickett received a 27-month sentence along with 3 years of supervised
release.

The U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender
Task Force is comprised of members of the Maine State Police, Maine
Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, and U.S. Customs
and Border Patrol.
