PARAMUS, NJ – Police aren’t sure why, but vandals cut down the flag pole bearing the American flag and POW-MIA flag in front of Paramus VFW POST 6699 overnight Wednesday. Members of the club arrived to see the flag pole cut and the flags laying on the ground.

Now, the Paramus Police Department is investigating the incident to determine who did it and why.

VFW members Sonny Schuler and Skip Cherven secured the flags in a proper manner after the damage was found.

Please contact the Paramus Police Department Detective Bureau at (201)262-3400 with any information.
