NEWARK, NJ – Newark Police Department detectives are trying to identify a man who robbed an eye glass store on Tuesday.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé, police responded to a burglar alarm at approximately 1:46 a.m. at the Urban Eyes Vision Center, located in the 200 block of Ferry Street.

“When they arrived, the glass door to the entrance of the business had been shattered with a brick by the suspect, who was captured on surveillance video. Once he gained entry, the suspect removed several items from the business and fled westbound on Ferry Street,” Frage said.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-
