TOMS RIVER, NJ – The annual Silverton Volunteer Fire Department fall festival and poker run have been canceled as Hurricane Ivan begins heading into the region. The festival which was scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.
“The Officers and Members of Silverton Fire Company regret to announce the cancellation of our Annual Fall Festival, Poker Run, 5K & Fun Run due to the forecasted weather throughout this weekend,” the department notified attendees today. “Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule the festival due to other conflicting activities and previous commitments of our vendors, presenters and Emergency Services personnel.”
The annual event draws thousands of nearby residents.
