MIDDLE RIVER, MD- Baltimore County Police briefly closed a neighborhood block in Middle River on Wednesday morning after the discovery of a suspected explosive device, which was later determined to be non-threatening. I
nvestigators responding to a search warrant investigation at a home on the 700 block of Middle River Road, initially believed they had found an explosive device.
Baltimore County police spokesperson Trae Corbin confirmed the presence of what appeared to be an explosive device. As a precautionary measure, Middle River Road was temporarily closed from Compass Road to Biggs Road, and the BCPD hazardous device team was called to the scene.
Following a thorough assessment, the team concluded that the device was not an explosive and posed no threat. All roads were reopened by 9 a.m., according to police.
In response to the incident, a nearby school implemented a lockdown after being notified by the police.
