MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Manchester Township Police were summoned to the vicinity of Congasia Road near Sunset Road intersection on Saturday, at around 2:59 pm, after a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek reportedly crashed into two parked vehicles and overturned.
Upon arrival, the officers observed the white Subaru overturned atop a white 2017 Hyundai Elantra with the Subaru’s driver, Anna Grissell, 84, from Whiting, NJ, trapped inside. First responders were able to extract Grissell from the Subaru. Grissell, who was wearing her seatbelt when the crash occurred, sustained injuries to her abdomen and neck. She was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment and is currently listed in a non-critical and stable condition.
Investigations revealed that Grissell’s Subaru was driving northbound on Congasia Road when it failed to negotiate a curve properly, driving off the roadway twice, and colliding with two signs, shrubbery, trees, and a bush. The vehicle then entered the parking lot of Deerfield Hall at 6 Congasia Road, impacting two parked vehicles – a Hyundai and a white 2007 Toyota Camry – and landed on top of the Hyundai. Both parked cars were unoccupied during the incident.
