Massive new indoor waterpark opens at the Jersey Shore

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – This Independence Day marked a historic moment in Atlantic City as the world’s largest beachfront indoor entertainment experience, Island Waterpark, opens its doors to the public. Tower Investments CEO and Showboat owner, Bart Blatstein, expressed his vision to transform Atlantic City from a casino town to a family-friendly beach resort that also offers casinos.

Covering an impressive 120,000 square feet and holding over 317,000 gallons of water, Island Waterpark is a groundbreaking venture. It boasts 11 thrilling slides, including the Electric Eel, Sonic Serpent, and Barracuda Blaster tube slides, designed with tight corners and banking turns to provide an exhilarating experience. For head-first excitement, guests can enjoy the three Tidal Racers mat racer slides, and there are also five waterslides specially designed for younger visitors at Slide Island.

One of the standout features of Island Waterpark is its 1,000 square-foot Wild Wave FlowRider surf simulator. Not only will it host surfing tournaments, but it also offers surf lessons, making it the only waterpark surf simulator in New Jersey to provide this unique opportunity. The waterpark also boasts the impressive Blue Cascade Waterfall, one of the largest custom water forms globally, and a 30-foot-tall Indoor Tree House, which can be reserved for private parties.

Adventure Pool provides a space for guests to engage in various water sports, while the 6,500 square-foot Island Drift Lazy River extends almost the entire length of the waterpark, offering a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Additionally, Kids Cove provides younger visitors with interactive water activities, ensuring they have a fantastic time in a safe environment. The waterpark’s design follows an exotic island theme, immersing guests in a tropical paradise.

While Island Waterpark offers an array of attractions for adults, such as six bars serving craft beers, curated wines, and signature cocktails, the highlight is Paradise Adult Island. This 10,000 square-foot space overlooks the waterpark and ocean and features DJ entertainment and Bliss Pool, an adults-only pool facing the Atlantic Ocean, complete with the only swim-up bar in Atlantic City. During the day, these venues serve as an oasis for parents and adults to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves while their children explore the waterpark. The adults-only area also includes additional amenities like Peloton bikes, manicure stations, chair massages, workspaces, VIP cabanas, and more. At night, ISLAND Waterpark will transform into a unique nightlife venue exclusively for adults, setting a new precedent in the waterpark industry.

One of the key features of Island Waterpark is its unique glass retractable roof. This innovative design allows for ample sunshine and fresh ocean breezes during the warmer months. In cases of inclement weather or colder temperatures, the roof can be closed, ensuring that the waterpark remains accessible and enjoyable year-round. The roof’s versatility also allows for projection displays, further enhancing the ambiance of the waterpark with stars or island imagery.

With the opening of Island Waterpark, Atlantic City is diversifying its entertainment offerings, making significant strides towards becoming a family-friendly destination that caters to a wide range of interests. This project not only enriches the city’s tourism industry but also creates new opportunities for visitors and locals to experience thrilling water-based attractions in a stunning beachfront setting.
