NEW YORK, NY – A man who was beaten to near death in the Bronx on June 30th has passed away at the hospital, the New York City Police Department reported today.

On June 30 at 10:17 AM, the police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault on a male at 1285 Fulton Avenue in the Bronx.

Upon arrival at the scene, NYPD officers found a 56-year-old male unconscious and unresponsive, with visible facial injuries. Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported the injured male to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln in critical condition.

On Tuesday, July 11, the victim succumbed to his injuries, and the authorities have classified the incident as a homicide.

During the initial response to the incident, a 30-year-old male named Kyron Randall was taken into custody at the scene.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld.

Randall was charged with assault in connection with the incident.
