MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – A male suspect, believed to have stabbed four people, was shot and killed by an officer from the Montgomery County Department of Police on Saturday.

The shooting occurred following a stabbing incident reported from the Unique Thrift Store on Veirs Mill Road and a separate location on Colie Drive.

Officers responded to the thrift store at approximately 10:36 am, discovering an adult female suffering from stab wounds. Two other women and an adult male were found in a separate location, each presenting with stab wounds. While two women suffered non-life-threatening injuries, one woman is in critical condition.

The suspect was located at approximately 10:47 am on Havard Street armed with a butcher’s knife. After refusing to comply with orders to drop the knife and lunging towards an officer, the suspect was shot. Despite officers’ efforts to render aid, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division investigates the stabbings. The shooting is being investigated by the Attorney General’s Independent Investigation Division, as mandated by Maryland law.
