First look at dorney park's new 95 degree dive rollercoaster

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is set to introduce a new attraction in the upcoming 2024 season – Iron Menace, the Northeast’s inaugural dive roller coaster.

Iron Menace riders will embark on an exhilarating journey within the remnants of an old steel mill. The ride will ascend 160 feet, suspending riders over the first beyond-vertical drop, leading into four inversions.

Spanning nearly 2,200 feet of steel track, this remarkable roller coaster will feature a distinctive “hold and dive” element. Riders will experience suspense as they hang on the precipice of their seats, anticipating the heart-pounding 95-degree, 152-foot drop.

Reaching speeds of up to 64 miles per hour, Iron Menace will introduce the first-ever tilted loop on a dive coaster. Following the initial steep drop, the train will sharply ascend and flip 180 degrees in an Immelmann inversion. A zero g-roll will deliver a weightless 360-degree inversion, while a tilted loop and a 360-degree corkscrew spin will challenge riders’ sense of orientation.

Iron Menace’s debut marks the first new roller coaster at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom since Hydra’s launch in 2005.
