Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Keyport

FREEHOLD, NJ – A pedestrian was fatally hit by a vehicle near Route 36 and Atlantic Street in Keyport shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The adult female victim was rushed to Bayshore Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after 2:15 a.m. Her identity remains undisclosed until her family is notified.

The driver involved, also an adult female, stayed at the scene.

The investigation, which includes members from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Keyport Police Department, is still active.
