MARYLAND – In anticipation of the upcoming Labor Day weekend, Maryland State Police are urging motorists to exercise caution and refrain from impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving.

State troopers from all 23 barracks will be conducting saturation patrols throughout the holiday weekend, funded in part by the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration’s Highway Safety Office.

The State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort team (SPIDRE) will also be in operation, targeting areas with high incidents of crashes or arrests. Statewide initiatives are geared towards curbing impaired, aggressive, and distracted driving behaviors.
