AUSTIN, TX – A resident of McKinney claimed a $17 million estimated annuitized jackpot from the Lotto Texas drawing held on August 16. Opting for the cash value at the time of purchase, the winner received $9,784,117.86 before taxes.

The winning ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store located at 7650 Campbell Road in Dallas. The player chose the numbers 10-14-17-31-38-48, which matched all six numbers drawn. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

The winner called their girlfriend upon realizing they had won. This was the first Texas Lottery prize for the claimant, who expressed feeling “overwhelmed and nervous” upon discovering their win. The winner plans to use the newfound fortune to buy a new home and retire.
