Newark Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Suspect in Restaurant Burglary

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a burglary at Sunshine Halal Restaurant on Monday, September 18.

Police responded to the restaurant, located at South Munn Avenue near South Orange Avenue, at approximately 11:20 p.m. The suspect used pliers to cut the bottom of the front entrance and stole two cash registers containing roughly $700.

The suspect was observed on surveillance footage and is described as a Black male with a white beard or goatee. He was seen wearing a dark gray/light gray, and gray and white Adidas pullover jacket, pants, and tan work boots that have dark stains on the front.
