HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced today that a jury convicted 25-year-old Zachary Baum of Armstrong County on multiple counts of sexual and domestic violence against three young women aged between 16 and 20.
The week-long trial resulted in Baum being found guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, indecent assault, strangulation, stalking, and simple assault.
Baum will undergo a Sexually Violent Predator evaluation and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
During the trial, the victims testified that Baum used social media platforms such as Snapchat and Facebook to initiate contact. He persisted in messaging them until he convinced them to meet him in person. The victims were then subjected to various forms of abuse, including sexual assault and strangulation.
