A 16-year-old has been taken into custody and charged with murder in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred at the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Broadway, according to an announcement from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday.
The teen is also facing attempted murder charges related to a separate incident where two individuals suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds.
Due to the suspect’s age, authorities have not released his name, but have confirmed the charges. The arrest comes amid a troubling spate of violence in Paterson, which saw four homicides within just three days at the beginning of October. To date, the police have not made arrests in any of the other three killings.
