Cherry Hill Schools Briefly Locked Down After False Alarm, Police Confirm

by Charlie Dwyer

CHERRY HILL, NJ – At around 10:30 AM earlier today, the Cherry Hill Police Department was alerted to a report of a suspicious individual lurking near the premises of Thomas Paine Elementary School.

The department dispatched Patrol Officers, Detectives, and a Police K9 unit to the site. A lockdown was enforced not only at Thomas Paine Elementary but also in surrounding schools as a precautionary measure.

The ensuing investigation, bolstered by a thorough review of available surveillance footage, concluded that no suspicious persons had set foot on the school grounds, thereby ruling out any potential threat to the students and staff of Thomas Paine Elementary as well as other nearby educational institutions.
