NEW YORK, NY – A mob of pro-Palestinian protesters launched a violent assault at Grand Central Station, breaking doors and windows in an attempt to breach the station to get to police officers waiting on the other side.
Men with Palestinian flags kicked the doors multiple times as police officers barricaded themselves inside the station.
“We are all Palestinians,” a man chanted on a megaphone nearby. Others banged on the windows and waved flags as the mob attempted to gain entry to the station as officers and travelers were sheltering inside the building. Officials were forced to close Grand Central Station until the violent mob left and vandalized other buildings, according to reports.
For the second consecutive night, pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets of Manhattan.
The rally, advocating for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, began at Columbus Circle at 5 p.m., drawing thousands.
Participants marched through the city, eventually reaching the New York Times building, where they marked the front with a red tint. The demonstration then proceeded to Grand Central Terminal, leading to its closure and interrupting services for the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and Metro-North.
Later, the mob cheered as protesters took down American flags.
