NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is currently seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual connected to an assault that occurred on East Tremont Avenue.

On Sunday, at about 10:00 pm, a 41-year-old woman was inadvertently shot in the torso during a dispute between two men near 504 East 180 Street.

The assailant, who displayed a firearm and fired during the altercation, escaped in a red four-door sedan heading east on East Tremont Avenue. The victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect is a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a camouflage baseball hat, a heavy fur-lined winter coat, a camouflage shirt, camouflage pants, and tan boots.

The New York City Police Department asks anyone with information to come forward.
