Man Shot Multiple Times, Witnesses Report 15 Gunshots in Drive-by Shooting

NEW HAVEN, CT – A fatal shooting occurred on Tuesday evening in the Fair Haven area of New Haven, prompting an investigation by local police.

Around 4:45 p.m., at the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Pearl Street, a 29-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso.

Eyewitness accounts suggest a vehicle approached the victim, who was on foot, and a passenger fired multiple shots.

Approximately 14-15 shots were reported. The vehicle involved was later found unoccupied in North Haven and has been towed by police. The victim was identified as whether the shooter and the man who died knew each other. Authorities have identified the man as 29-year-old Shaquille Chazz Pearson.

The suspect remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing, with police examining surveillance footage from the area.
