LEE COUNTY, FL — A dramatic rescue unfolded in Lee County as Deputy Layne Reeves of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office saved a man trapped in a flipped and partially submerged car. The incident occurred on North Cleveland Avenue, where a vehicle lost control, crashed, and rolled into a water-filled ditch, ending up upside down.

The driver managed to escape the vehicle, but the passenger was trapped inside. Bodycam footage released by the sheriff’s office shows Deputy Reeves breaking the car window to access the trapped passenger. He successfully pulled the man to safety in a tense and swift operation.

Both the driver and the passenger were transported to the hospital following the accident. They are expected to recover fully.
