Police say suspect left scene before being found nearby

BALTIMORE, Md. — A motorcyclist was killed after a collision with a vehicle in Southwest Baltimore, and the other driver was arrested on a drunken driving charge after fleeing the scene, police said.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:37 p.m. on Aug. 3 to the 100 block of North Hilton Street for a reported crash with injuries.

Investigators said a 66-year-old driver of a 2002 Ford collided with a 36-year-old man riding a motorcycle.

Police said the Ford driver fled the scene following the crash but was located a short time later.

The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The 66-year-old driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

Baltimore Police Crash Team detectives are investigating the fatal collision.
