UTICA, NY – Authorities were called to the North Utica Planet Fitness on March 11 after a report of a loaded handgun discovered in a gym locker. A gym patron found not only the firearm but also a quantity of narcotics within the same locker. Further investigation led to the identification and detention of Darnell Bouzy, who was present in the facility.
Upon inspection, officers found cocaine, pills, and a .25 caliber handgun in Bouzy’s locker. He was subsequently interviewed and taken to the Utica Police Department for processing. Bouzy faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon of a firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in both the fifth and seventh degrees.
