Witnesses Sought in Deadly Newark Hit-and-Run Incident

NEWARK, DE – Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a man early this morning. The incident occurred on April 13, just after midnight, on Christiana Road east of South Brownleaf Road. A pedestrian was struck by an eastbound vehicle near the South Gerald Drive intersection. The vehicle involved in the crash subsequently fled the scene.

The victim, a 49-year-old Newark man, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until his family has been informed.
