Cedric Deshun Alexander, 33, has been sentenced to life in prison for his involvement in a gang-related murder-for-hire plot in Texas, which resulted in the death of Jermaine Aldridge. Alexander received his sentence on Thursday and was also fined $10,000 for multiple counts of organizing criminal activity. The case involved a group of violent criminals who hired Alexander from Memphis to carry out acts of violence in the community.
During the trial, it was revealed that Alexander, along with another individual from Mississippi, was hired to shoot Aldridge in a parking lot, leading to his death. The incident took place on December 30, 2020, in a Chili’s parking lot where Aldridge was shot once in the back. The gang leader believed Aldridge had stolen $100,000 of his drug money. Alexander later returned to Texarkana in July 2021 to further assist the gang in causing chaos.
Authorities stated that this murder was part of a series of violent crimes orchestrated by the gang, including another murder on July 15, 2021. Police praised the investigative work that led to Alexander’s conviction, acknowledging the complexity of the case.
Texarkana Texas Police Chief Kevin Shutte commended the detectives for their dedication to uncovering the truth behind the violent crimes. The sentencing of Alexander marks a significant milestone in bringing justice to the victims and holding those responsible for the crimes accountable.
