PENSACOLA, Fla. — An active shooter situation is unfolding at Corry Station, a training facility associated with Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, as military security forces and local law enforcement respond to the scene.

“NAS Pensacola Navy Security Forces and local law enforcement entities are responding to an active shooter situation March 6 onboard Corry Station,” the base announced on social media.

UPDATE: The Escambia Sheriff’s Department said after an investigation, it was determined that no evidence was found for an active shooter.

Base officials said all gates to NAS Pensacola and Corry Station are closed, with no traffic allowed in or out. Captain Chandra Newman, the installation’s commanding officer, emphasized the priority of protecting personnel. “Our Security team is responding swiftly and expertly with our local law enforcement partners,” Newman said. “Our concern is always the safety and welfare of our service members and their families.”

Further details, including potential casualties or the status of the suspect, have not yet been released. Base officials stated that updates will be provided through official channels as the situation develops.
