ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police in Annapolis responded to three separate incidents of theft and burglary this week, underscoring a troubling string of crimes across the city.
On Monday evening at 7:36 p.m., officers were called to the Whitmore Garage on 37 Clay Street after a reported theft from a vehicle. A victim stated that her son’s Nintendo Switch was stolen from the backseat of her 2015 Toyota Venza. Authorities noted there were no signs of forced entry, and no suspect information has been made available.
Earlier that day, a gray 2018 Honda Accord bearing Maryland license plate #2DP3450 was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Poplar Avenue, near South Cherry Grove Avenue. Police issued a “be on the lookout” alert (BOLO) and entered the stolen vehicle into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
In another incident reported on Monday, a resident in the 1100 block of Madison Street stated that on December 21, at around 5:00 p.m., an unknown woman entered his apartment through an unlocked front door. The victim reported that 92 oxycodone pills were taken from his room. Police described the suspect as a Black female, though no further identifying details have been released.
All three cases remain under active investigation as police seek leads and urge vigilance from residents.
