Are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Divorcing Because of His Support for President Trump?

Not Exactly News – The internet is buzzing with rumors that rap music star Kanye West is making a clean break from his wife, Kim Kardashian. In the first week of February of 2021, it’s being reported that a divorce is imminent, but is it?  One of the claims is that Kanye’s support of former President Donald J. Trump as one of the underlying problems in the impending divorce.

The claim:

People reported that Kanye West, allegedly told the magazine, “Kanye is also completely done with the marriage and is moving on. He doesn’t care what Kim’s priorities are with holding off on a divorce announcement. He will file before she’s ready if he has to. He wants the divorce just as much as Kim does.”

Us Magazine reported, “They have been living apart for a year now and he doesn’t have too many things [at Kim’s house] that he would need. They are both clearly going through the hardest part of this separation right now.”

Is it fake news?

What we do know is that the couple announced their relationship back in the spring of 2012 and have been together for nearly 9 years now. In 2014, they were married in Florence, Italy.  Kanye and Kim have four children and it appears, through public accounts that their marriage began hitting the rocks after Kanye announced he was a supporter of President Donald J. Trump.   They were legally separated in 2020, but sources have also reported the couple was attending marriage counseling in recent months.

Kardashian said she supported Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election but did not make any endorsements in 2020. She confirmed her friendship with Ivanka Trump and faced criticism in 2019 for talking to the President about criminal justice reform.

Verdict: Unconfirmed, but possible

This is a Hollywood relationship. As everyone knows, anything can happen at any time.  As of February 5th, no official divorce papers have been filed and Joe Biden is the President of the United States.  It is also not certain or confirmed that the source of their marital problems lie in West’s support of the former President.
